Jubilee 250 (World Premiere, 2026)

Jubilee 250 is a summer-girls-camp-meets-Americana-military-meets-horror-film dance theater romp. Lohse and Marquis excavate their childhood indoctrination at sleep away camps, Sunday Schools and on-high school drill dance teams. They don sleeping bags, pom poms and USA flag bathing suits. They march, salute, and chant. They army crawl, hunt each other like animals, exchange coded handshakes. The audience will decide their futures through innocuous school yard games. Can they survive the tour of duty from girlhood to womanhood? How can we make sense of and find solace in our fractured, dizzying present?
